Atlantis Ver 2 by FireflyPhotosAust Atlantis Ver 2 by FireflyPhotosAust
This is version 2 of [link] I am still trying to work on the suggestions provided.

Do you think that this is an improvement or should I go back to the drawing board?

This is wonderful.

I love the purple sky against ochre yellows, rust, and vibrant green colours. Fabulous composition, and great HDR!

Hey,
I went to Parramatta High.....and was familiar with that area so much when I was younger....I can see this bridge, but for the life of me can't recall where it is.......is it part of parramatta Park?
cheers, jen

Hi Jen,

This is the eastern end of Parramatta towards the ferry wharf.

I think I know where you mean....it has been such a long time though...it's a little foggy....still a great shot you captured there:)

Thanks Jen. It's not a part of Parramatta that I visit very often. I was just early for a client meeting and happened to have my camera with me:-)

I like the lighter buildings in this one, but of course - being me - I like the darker sky of the other

Ah, going though the hard drive to see what you can play with. Fun way to spend a week...

Opinion on these two, I like the lighter one, is more of a lifestyle image and the lightness gives it that "Pleasentville" feel.

Anytime, Malcolm :) I've been thinking about getting Photomatix and giving it a try sometime. Everybody says shooting RAW is where it's at

Shooting raw has been drummed into me by a few people too. My camera has the ability to shoot both RAW and JPEG so I have it set to take both. A lot of the time I only use the JPEG file as I don't have a lot of time for processing and I still have a lot to learn.

The RAW files do give you more control and flexibility. You can create a few different exposures from the one RAW file, say one for the sky and one for the foreground and then combine them in photoshop.

I only use photomatix for trying to make HDR's or blending exposures.

I develop my RAW files either using the Olympus software that came with the camera or photoshop.

I definitely like the other one better. This one looks kind of flat, whereas the other looks really cool with the light and dark.

Hmm... not going to lie to you Malcolm;
I think the other one was more visually interesting.
This one I thought was a drawing or something when
I saw it; I don't know, just seems flatter.
Still a great picture. And still a well deserved :+fav:. :D
