I tried to get that smoky look on my SLR & I know it's got to do with manual BUT HOW?

It's the slow shutter speed that gives the water the smoky look:-)

I usually shoot the water falls early in the morning before the bright sun. I also use Graduated Neutral Density Filters to block out some of the light.
